Work from my 2017 graduation portfolio project Cipitio, which is a project based on the Salvadorian folk tale of a little boy who was cursed to be unable to grow up.
Set in post-colonial El Salvador, this story focuses on a nahualt girl, Cualli, who when one evening goes to do laundry, finds Cipitio in the forest. She decides she will try to civilize him and teach him the ways of the world, while he tries to show her how to just let loose and have fun.
During this project, I had the amazing opportunity to actually go to El Salvador and take reference photos. I wanted to learn as much as I could so that I could pay true respects to the culture.
